В США продолжаются митинги [1] , связанные с разоблачениями Эдварда Сноудена относительно слежки, проводимой Агентством национальной безопасности. Множество людей вышли на улицы по всей стране, чтобы выразить недовольство шпионажем внутри США и вторжением в частную жизнь граждан. Корреспондент RT Анастасия Чуркина прошла с протестующими по улицам, чтобы понять, чего они добиваются.
Протесты продолжались в течение всего дня во многих городах Соединённых Штатов. Участники акций считают, что сложившаяся ситуация напоминает действие романа Джорджа Оруэлла «1984». В этой антиутопии, написанной более полувека назад, речь идёт о массовой слежке за людьми. Протестующие говорят, что власти США, похоже, использовали книгу в качестве руководства к действию.
Бурная реакция общества является результатом разоблачений бывшего 30-летнего сотрудника американских спецслужб Эдварда Сноудена. В июне этого года он рассказал о том, что Агентство национальной безопасности осуществляет слежку за миллионами американцев и граждан других государств по всему миру.
«Четвёртая поправка к Конституции гласит, что они не имеют права следить за всеми подряд до тех пор, пока у них нет оснований полагать, что человек совершил какое-либо преступление», - заявил один из протестующих.
Митингующие во всех штатах предупреждают: они выходят на улицы, чтобы показать властям, что с них довольно массовой слежки и что они будут протестовать до тех пор, пока их не услышат.
Эти протесты организованы движением «Восстановите четвертую поправку!», зародившимся среди простых американцев, борющихся за свободу частной жизни. Они требуют, чтобы документ, защищающий каждого гражданина страны от необоснованных обысков и арестов, вновь действовал по-настоящему.
